Regional Baha'i Council's: 2008-2009

I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for the results of this year's U.S. Regional Baha'i Council elections. They've finally been announced:

Local Spiritual Assembly members across the United States gathered to cast votes for the Regional Bahá’í Councils between Nov. 1–7, 2008, with results reported on Nov. 26, 2008, the Day of the Covenant.

We give praise to Bahá'u'lláh as we announce with joyous hearts the election results for the Regional Bahá'í Councils of the Central States, the Northwestern States, the Northeastern States, the South Central States, the Southeastern States and the Southwestern States listed below.

Please remember these friends in your prayers in their efforts to carry out their spiritual tasks to inspire and encourage the American Bahá'í community, particularly at this time when “humanity's current plight is too desperate to allow for even a moment's hesitation to share the Bread of Life which has come down from heaven in our time. Let there be no delay, then, in advancing the process that has every promise of success in ushering to the banquet table of the Lord of Hosts the souls of all that hunger after truth.”

Casting my vote during Baha'i elections is one of the most important and inspiring things that I do all year. It is an act of spiritual democracy, a vote cast for the emergence of God's Kingdom on this earth.

"The world's equilibrium hath been upset through the vibrating influence of this most great, this new World Order. Mankind's ordered life hath been revolutionized through the agency of this unique, this wondrous System -- the like of which mortal eyes have never witnessed." (Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 136)
