I was thinking about it and wonder what day `Abdu'l-Baha was freed and made His way to Egypt..... According to Bayluzi's biography of `Abdu'l-Baha (p. 123) that would appear to be July 24th, (1908.) That's probably the day they got the telegram confirming He was free too. It was between March and August 1909 that He made his way to Port Said.
For July 11 or July 24? FOr July 11 it's the day the court case in Iran is likely, but may not, take place on. July 24th as an anniversary of some note and in the spirit of what has been asked for - freedom.
More writing about the persecution of Christians. Looking for more analsis and quotes - I seem to recall a Roman Christian speaking (in translation) of spreading the Faith one heart to another.... We've been through this before. I wonder how far along we are in the timeline...."Reflect upon the past events of the time of Christ, and the present events shall become clear and manifest."

ReplyDeleteIt might also be instructive in a broader sense for Baha'is to recall such events as mock trials and persecution are not new. Romans did it.
