A good friend and remarkable individual is giving a presentation on Spiritual Self-Mastery and Mental Health at Bosch Baha'i School. I wanted to make sure people knew about it and hope that many of you will attend, especially if you live in that part of the world. If you do get a chance to go I'd love to hear about it in the comment section. Here's some information:
Spiritual Self-Mastery and Mental Health
Bosch Workshop, June 11-13th 2010
Through the process of intensive programs of growth the Baha'i community has been challenged to expand beyond our familiar comfort level to reach out towards greater and greater numbers of people who differ along socio-economic, cultural, racial and religious backgrounds. This struggle to build authentic community mirrors the one faced by the world at large. Drawing upon the guidance in the Bahá’i Writings, this workshop will focus on knowledge and skills to help us break down the barriers that keep us in isolation from each other. We will deepen our understanding on the nature of the soul, and practice spiritual self-mastery. The workshop will feature experiential and interactive exercises exploring the processes of prayer and meditation, and deep listening, as well as their practical applications in relationship-building and increasing unity, all essential to building authentic community. We will conclude with the visioning exercise in which we will experience unity while appreciating our diversity, and connect with each other around projects of common interest and options for acts of service.
Facilitated by Dulamdary Enkhtor, M.A., Ph.D. candidate in Clinical and Community Psychology, therapist at a private psychotherapy practice and a psychology clinic.
