Interesting--
I am glad these thoughts on racial relationships moved beyond the Christian Scriptures, pointing out that the Hand of God is not chained up, that He will continue to reveal to humanity what we need to progress as we mature.

It remains for us to bring such lofty teachings into social reality, and only by such efforts, collective and individual, will we gain greater and greater understanding of what this Revelation means.--I've been reading Paul Lample, "A New Mind", and "From Revelation to Social Reality', which urges this perspective. I highly recommend these books.

These days interracial relationships, in the United States at least, seem to have become "fashionable", "cutting edge".
I think there is a danger in following fashions, which are just that. Fashions come and go, we run the danger of forging relationships built on "shifting sand. "

I think is helpful to reflect on questions such as:
What is the overriding purpose of interracial relationships? What should be their basis? How can such relationships contribute to the healing of the world? What can one learn, individually, from such relationships? What is the Foundation of a spiritual relationship in marriage? How can an interracial marriage facilitate a spiritual relationship? Marriage changes each individual; what type of changes might interracial marriage be especially conducive to? In general, what are the current challenges specific to interracial marriage? How can we view tests that come from these relationships as blessings conducive to personal growth?

Very good post. I don't think my parents thought any of this when they got married in the 60s! My father says he admired my mother stength of character and my mother admired his dignity. They still admire each other after 45 years of marriage and I never heard any make reference to color. But what I know is that they realized even before marrying that it would be hard because of the cultural differences and society's pressure, and it still is. But in the end I think they liked being different!

As for proof of whether interracial relationships are a good idea, outside of what the Writings are saying...just look at how gosh darn CUTE the children of such marriages are! ;-)
