Thanks for the post, Phillipe. I've learned over my Baha'i years not to blame Atheists or Agnostics for their beliefs. Such beliefs are well-founded in religious confusion everywhere. More, we now live in a new age when not only the Universe is being explored but the very essence of matter. But all traditional religions are silent, leading many religionists to conclude than these human endeavors are "sins". Where is God? If He is dead, or such, then He would have made Himself known, in order to address man's newly-found capacity and even guide man forward. I, too, asked such questions until I found the Baha'i Faith. Now I'm experiencing God as One Who speaks to man's rational mind, as well as his spirit.

As an American, God is the guy in DC who authorizes my money, which is legal tender because we Americans trust in the Currency Czar (God, that is).

The Atheists don't stand a chance. Break one idol and a thousand idols bloom, every last one calling itself "God".

Hi Phillipe,

I live in a far more overtly secular society than you, and I don't share your confidence that belief in God remains strong. I agree with you that the article makes unsupported assumptions in its interpretation of the US poll findings. The deity may not have been thrown out with the holy water.

Excellent advertising campaign, though. "Good without God" is an eloquent expression of a complex concept.
